Everyone has their own system when it comes to mopping up a spilled mug of hot chocolate on the impractical, but beautiful ecru carpeting. Maybe they begin by dispensing half a roll of paper towels to absorb the excess liquid, then apply the carpet cleaner of choice, dab ferociously, and so on. Problem solved perhaps, but often the manual scrubbing actually pushes filth deeper into the carpet, further embedding it. Even if the chocolate color has been eradicated, the unpleasant aroma of spoiled milk may still arise. To fully eliminate stains, Bissell created their clever SpotLifter 2X carpet cleaner. The 9.6v cleaner uses a combination of aggressive brush agitation and powerful suction to actually lift spots up and out of the carpet. Ideal for attacking fresh spills or unsightly pet accidents, the handheld vacuum leaves the carpet looking as if Coco never left her owners a stinky present there. To use the SpotLifter 2X, users fill the cleaner's back tank with cleaning formula and clean water. After spraying the soiled area, apply the deluxe brush to the area and switch the power button on. The brush begins to scrub at the carpet while the suction lifts debris and dirty water up into the front collection tank. The cleaner covers a 7-inch path. After the carpet has been thoroughly cleaned, a release button enables easy collection tank removal for disposal and a quick rinse out. i just got a puppy so i knew that we needed to get a carpet cleaner, especially when the new puppy got sick, so I went looking for the best one (that was still affordable) and I have to say that i love this item!
I was a little skeptical when i saw some of the reviews- like it doesn't hold a lot of water, and it's hard to use.. etc. but i decided to buy it anyway and keep the box just in case.
Anyway, I love this cleaner!!! it is perfect for cleaning up small spills or puppy accidents. if you have a large area to clean, i would suggest going with a bigger plug-in sort of cleaner, but for small to medium stains it is perfect. it is light weight and handheld so you can carry it to different rooms, and up stairs with ease. it holds a good amount of solution, and i haven't had a problem with it not holding enough dirty water. some of the reviews i read said that it gets full too fast and you have to stop and empty it... again, that may be the case if you are cleaning a large area, but i haven't had any problems with it. also, it does come with a small bottle of solution so you don't have to buy solution right away.. i did not know that. also, the cleaning head of the machine is a bigger width than the big plug-in bissel machine so you actually can clean a larger area in one motion than you can with the other machine's attachable heads, which i think it pretty handy. as far as the ability to get out stains, it is really good. i used it yesterday when a bunch of bar-b-q sauce was spilled on the white carpet and it cleaned it up no problem. and with no visible stain remaming.
i would highly recommend this product. :)

I just used this carpet cleaner for the first time on old carpet stains, and it worked FANTASTICALLY! I wish the battery life were a little longer, but it is so easy to use and very effective! I am a big fan.

I have a dog and the machine does a good job on cleaning up his messes. The liquid
cleaner that came with it works pretty good. I was surprised that the brush doesn't rotate...it's just a scrub brush but it works ok too. I got it on sale but would have been disappointed to have paid more for it.

Finally unpacked, charged and put the Bissell SpotLifter to use. Spray function is somewhat weak/cumbersome and the suction is less than expected. Seems to work well on little spots. I found it much easier to use a scrub brush with the recommended solution on the spot first. After the solution sets for a few minutes, I go back over it with the SpotLifter and remove any access liquid and water. For larger and more difficult stains I would recommend using the solution/elbow grease and then go over it using the full power of your wet/dry vac. Works like a charm.

Our Spotlifter2 is a replacement for an original Spotlifter we used for years. It is very handy, easy to use and works extremely well to remove a puppy's "mistake." Actually, when it is turned on, our puppy, Daisy, automatically runs to its kennel because it has been a "bad dog!" We couldn't find it in stores, but found it at Amazon.
