Lugging the vacuum cleaner up a flight of stairs becomes a virtually painless chore with Bissell's lightweight Quicksteamer Powerbrush II model. The upright 4-amp vacuum weighs just 12 pounds while still providing up deep-down carpet cleaning, eradicating pet hair, dirt and small objects with power. Using steam heat and Bissell's own DirtLifting brush technology, this cleaner is ideal for individuals looking for painless, yet thorough cleaning.

To use the carpet cleaner, users fill the 1/2-gallon tank with clean water and cleaning formula. At the push of the power button, the cleaner's brush uproots dirt from the carpet, lifting it up into the residue collection tank. The vacuum covers an 8-1/2-inch cleaning path. A removable nozzle enables flexibility while cleaning. Users maneuver the vacuum about the house with an ergonomically correct grip form minimal stress to wrists and hands. The vacuum cord spans a distance of 20 feet. Users assemble the cleaner by an easy two-step process. For the best success, read all enclosed material prior to use. 2 out of 5 stars so so   September 2, 2010

I have this and I find it better for the attachment aspect than the carpet cleaning feature. It just doesn't seem to do much as a carpet cleaner. If you have spills on chairs or using it on car seats, it does a fair job. But cleaning carpets I am not impressed. It gets it wet, it tries to suck it up, but doesn't exactly clean, and the feature on it I hate is is pools water after you shut the thing off underneath, so you have this mess of a spot to deal with. So is why I rated it low. I have the bissell old type of canister carpet cleaner that is awesome. It has plastic parts that you can't get anymore, which is sad. But that outcleaned anything. You could saturate the stains and it would pull out the stain and the water used...

5 out of 5 stars Miracle!   August 18, 2010

I thought this would be such a hassle to use, and I was so afraid it wouldn't work, I put off opening it and trying it for a week! Once I decided to give it a try, I put it together and was done using it in under an hour. Very easy and intuitive. Lightweight. Of course, the best part is how it took out the stains and smells from my two cats right away! Carpet looks new again!

5 out of 5 stars Great little machine   August 16, 2010

Hello, I got this machine to replace a Hoover steam vac. The Hoover was a great machine as well but very heavy and therefore harder to clean, transport and use. Its advantage was a slightly larger footpath but like I said it was a lot heavier. This machine is very light and easy to use and clean. It works very well for a home unit. You do have to go over trouble spots and soiled areas a few times but I was really surprised how clean it got the carpets when I was done. A little effort goes a long way with this machine. If you are looking for a once over cleaning job you should probably just hire someone. I have clean alot of carpets and no at home machines can get everything out in one pass.

5 out of 5 stars Great lightweight machine   July 20, 2010

I used the Bissell Quicksteamer last week for the first time. It was easy to assemble, a dream to use and I shampooed 16 jute back scatter rugs ranging in size from 2 x 4' to 6 x 8' without a problem. I was happy to realize there was no side spray so I could shampoo carpets in place on my wood floors. It sure beats driving 40 miles to rent a machine that's big and clumsy to use. The last time I borrowed a machine from a friend. It was a horrible experience. The darn thing was too heavy and didn't do a good job, plus I had to haul the carpets out to the patio because water sprayed out the sides. Now I have a great lightweight Bissell and I'm a happy camper.

Because I read many of the reviews I knew to go slow to when extracting the water I did have to refill the water container and empty the dirty water container fairly often, but it was so easy, I didn't mind.

The most inconvenient task was cleaning the machine after use, but with a little patience was able to accomplish a spic and span job.

I love this Bissill and would highly recommend it to anyone.
