5 out of 5 stars Another great little helper!   August 27, 2010
Carrie Wehmeyer (New Braunfels, Texas)
I wasn't sure about this product after reading some of the reviews, but I took a chance on it because I love my Roombas so much. It is a great little helper. Our house has about 2000 sq feet of white tile and it gets really dirty living out in the country with five kids, five cats and a dog. However, if I run the Scooba every day or so, the floor stay very clean. It dries a lot faster than I thought it would. Once the Scooba gives its little victory song indicating it has covered the whole room, the floor is dry. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs help keeping the floors clean. One other thing, the new formula of the cleaner is enzyme based and safe for pets and kids.

2 out of 5 stars Very Poor Customer Support   August 7, 2010

have 7 robots in all, and they do a pretty good job. As we all know, they are not cheap. They are all less then a year old. Recently, one began thumping while running. I went to the iRobot website which offered suggestions on how to diagnose this issue. One suggestion was to remove the brushes and run the robot, if the thumping continues, clink the link for customer support. I filled out the page which generates an automatic email. I provided the model, model number, and serial number. I explained that I did everything suggested, and that even with the brushes out, the thumping occured. A day later I receive an email suggesting I do everything the site told me to do, even though I stated that I had already done it! I wrote them back and asked if they even read my original email. And that I already did everything in this email. What should I do next. Then... I get another email that asks... what was the model and serial number???

Doesn't give me much confidence in this company. Not sure what I will do with the other 6 start acting up...

1 out of 5 stars Do not buy it! Does no work!   July 27, 2010

This series has a problem! DO not buy it! Choose another series than Scooba 330.
I was talking to a salesman from a big store and he told me they had the same problem with almost all this model. They had it all returned.
Here is what happened:
I bought this product for my kitchen floor. At first I noticed it did no clean that spots hard to clean on the floor ( I had to use the broom) .But anyway, as I have pets and kids at home, I thought it was a little help.
For my disappointment it stopped working after 4 weeks I had oppened the package!

3 out of 5 stars Mentally challenged cousin of the iRobot Roomba   July 21, 2010

The idea of a Roomba which instead of vacuuming washes floors makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately, the two products differ, and seem to be produced by two different companies. Here's a list of differences:

* The Roomba has springs on it's wheels, which allow it to go over minor bumps. The Scooba wheels are fixed and as a result the Roomba will get stuck on t-molding in front of a door, or between tile and hardwood.
* The Roomba can self dock. If I run the Scooba when I go to bed, I can't run it again in the morning because I have to find it and have it charge for four hours. If it returned to the dock, it would at least be ready to clean again after the water is changed.
* The Roomba has nice sounding beeps, while the Scooba has much more primitive beeps.
* The Roomba is faster and slows down before walls. The Scooba moves slowly but is always ramming into things.
* The Roomba has a little brush to clean corners, which is missing on the Scooba.
* The Roomba can be scheduled to run automatically. A delayed start would be a helpful improvement on the Scooba.
* The Roomba can usually get itself unstuck. The Scooba will stop immediately if it thinks it might be stuck.
* The Roomba is far quieter than the Scooba.

Other than both machines being round, they are quite different inside. I'd love to give my Scooba a brain transplant from my Roomba, as the Roomba is much smarter.

The Scooba also requires a lot more work than the Roomba, so isn't so much a time saver. The 330 can only do a 200-250 sqft room at a time. After each room, you need to find the Scooba, empty and refill the tank, clean the brushes, clean two filters, and charge the Scooba for four hours.

1 out of 5 stars Poor battery life and no customer support   July 17, 2010

First, believe the people that say this has a horrible battery life. I maybe used it 20 times and the battery will not hold a charge. Second, customer support is useless. Their response to the problem is to buy another $70 battery from them. Worthless.
