Our first 7.2 volt Dustbuster cordless lasted 12 years. No kidding. We were unsure if we good find one again that was as good as that one and meet our everyday cleanup needs. We have had this 9.6 volt Dustbuster a month now and it does everything we expected and is a good replacement for it's older retired brother.
The vacuuming power is better than the 7.2, the nozzle brush works well and the nose extension, contrary to another review, stays in place well when using,unless you're a gorilla and push down too hard. Perfect for last minute touch up around baseboards before company comes,last minute cleanup for car rugs and seats and our grandchildren's cookie crumbs. Cleaning and emptying are simple. Buy a small paint brush and use it to sweep out the filter. Hope it lasts as long as it's older brother (sister?). This one is red and white. Maybe it's a girl? Color is fine. For us it was a good buy.

I have used Black & Decker Handvacs for years and when I needed to replace one that I had, and used regularly,I wasn't able to replace it with one under $49.95 at my local stores. The last one I purchased was under $30. I chose this one for the price and wieght. Another handvac called "The Shark" was very heavy. I have only been using it for a short time but the power seems good at picking up normal household crumbs, grass etc. The only thing that this one lacks that my older models seemed to have is a wider pick-up width. This means I have to go over an area a few times to get more area picked up. The last model I had was the B&D Wet Vac model that I don't see available anywhere any longer. It seems that all the companies are constantly changing models and sometimes they make the "new" model less efficient but higher in price. Other than that, I would say it is a GOOD product for the PRICE.

I would highly recommend this dustbuster. I bought it for an office environment and it seems to be working great. Haven't had it long yet but it appears to be of good quality.
