Product Description Leave the cleaning to a robot with this convenient machine. Its 14.4-volt rechargeable Ni-MH battery provides the power needed to clean hard floors, shop carpets, garage and basement areas, as well as industrial-floor surfaces. In addition, specially designed counter-rotating brushes spin almost 1,000 times per minute, sweeping up dirt and debris that cling to rough surfaces. Simply press the "clean" button and the unit sweeps under workbenches, cars, and other hard-to-reach places, picking up nuts, bolts, dirt, and more. For added convenience, "cliff" sensors keep it from falling down stairs or other vertical drops. The unit offers an oversized, bagless, easy-to-empty debris bin, and its power supply fully charges in seven hours. Accessories include a standard battery, a standard charger, a cleaning tool, and an owner's guide. The cleaning machine measures approximately 13 by 13 by 4 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

My other little pet July 28, 2010 Patricia Salvo (BRANDON, FL, US) This little guy has become an addition to my family! I mostly call him little buddy because he has helped me eliminate over an hour of my day. He works very hard, especially during the dogs shedding times. I have four dogs and two of them shed. His schedule is the downstairs at night when I go upstairs to bed. Recharge first thing in the morning and then he sweeps the upstairs. Recharge and then he does a few extra downstairs rooms. I have all tile or hardwood floors and no rugs that would "ruffle his feathers." The robot may have been designed to sweep garages, but he was just what I needed to keep the pet hair off the floor. One of the best purchases I have made in a long time!
worked great at first July 22, 2010 Lilditty12 I was SO excited when I got my Dirt Dog. I named her MOLLY. She did my floors awesome the first 4 times. She has been plugged in and charged fully. The directions say it takes about 45 minutes to clean a room. So far, that's been true. UNTIL TONIGHT. I got her out, fully charged. I'd dropped a glass jar of peanut butter. Glass all over my floor~!!! I swept up what I could, in my slippers so I would'nt step on glass. I set MOLLY down and switched her on. She only worked for about 7 minutes and QUIT!!. Now she is plugged in and "breathing" ;her red light flashing while "she" charges, and I WAIT. NOT GOOD. CAN I NOT depend on DIRT DOG?? I spent the money and bragged to my skeptical friends, that DD really DOES work. I was wrong. I want my money back. End of conversation. I will do my own floors, even though I hate too. I ALMOST bought a SCOOBA and RUMBA that would do my carpet. Now, I have second thoughts. Oh well. it was nice for a little while. It takes too long too recharge, when "IT" should have been done with my floors by now. I only have 14-hundred square feet in my house. Very small rooms. yet, DIRT DOG BATTERY IS NOT SUFFICIENT!!! too bad.
Pretty Good July 20, 2010 HsinY (Philippines) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Got the Dirt Dog for a couple of days and I've been using it to clean our apartment floors. We live in a 3000 square feet apartment and most of the flooring are tiles with low pile area rugs. I have a Lhasa Apso that doesnt shed too much but we can still see fur balls flying about every week.
I made sure I lift the cables or use a old cardboard core that came with our area rugs to block off the underneath of tv shelves to make sure it does not get caught with all the wires.
So far I am pretty pleased. We were very shocked to see how much dust and hairs it was able to to pick up.
I'm planning to buy a roomba and a scooba to alternate with the Dirt Dog to get our house cleaned on a regular basis. I might use the Dirt Dog for our huge terrace instead to clean up the sand.
I hope this gadget lasts.
One Clean Dog!! July 19, 2010 Dr. 24 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We were interested in purchasing a Roomba, however, the prices were a bit too steep. We found iRobot's Dirt Dog and its price, features, and more importantly, the overall reviews left by owners made us decide to take a chance. I must say, after numerous uses I am a believer - this thing works...quite well.
I normally do not write reviews, however, this product has impressed me enough that I believe others would benefit from a Dirt Dog. First off, this is a sweeper not a vacuum but don't let that deter you from buying it over a Roomba (unless your home is mostly carpet). This is great on tile, wooden floors and certain carpets. Simply charge it, when you see the green light put on the ground and let it loose. A single charge will enable the Dog to work for nearly an hour. Prior to use I would recommend picking up or putting away items such as clothes, cords/cables, carpet tasels, etc.
The Dog has a set pattern that will ensure that your room/area is clean. If there is an item in the way the Dog will go around it, it hugs walls to pick up dirt near base boards and it will back up and beep whenever it is stuck. While it is called a Workshop Robot, this will work in nearly any room, patio and garage. Even when I think a certain area does not look too dirty I will find some debris in the Dog's compartment. If you have kids or your area/room tends to be dusty I would recommend this product.
Currently, the product is working very well so the question now is long term durability. If anything questionable occurs with the Dirt Dog I will try to update this review so that others are aware of any issues. Again, great product and I've recommend it to friends and family.
Love This Little Guy July 18, 2010 Shasta (Buffalo, NY) I read tons of reviews before buying Buddy, the Dirt Dog. I love this little guy. I have a German shepherd that sheds like nobody's business and this thing gets up all the hair. It goes under the couch and beds without a problem (I put wooden napkin holders under the feet of my sofa so he'll fit). Keep in mind, it's not meant for pet hair. The pet hair Roomba is. I clean Buddy religiously to keep it in tip top shape. I paid good money for it and want it to last.
I'm on my second Buddy because the first one's motor went. Luckily, it was within the 90 day warranty. iRobot sent me a replacement and I sent their's back. They paid the shipping and were polite and helpful on the phone. I read some reviews on their customer service, but so far I haven't had any issues. I bought the home base to avoid coming home and finding it under the couch or bed. I do wish Buddy came with a scheduler like the other Roomba models. After a month of feeling smooth floors beneath my feet, I bought Scooba Steve. They are both loved.
