3 out of 5 stars Great Value but . . .   July 16, 2010
Alan (CA)
I bought mine at [...] actually for about $60. I returned it though for the commercial version for about $100 on Amazon.com.

For suction and cleaning ability I'd give it 5 stars but would only give it 2 stars for all else.

The vacuum actually exceeded my expectations with how good a cheap canister vacuum can clean. For the price I think it is a great value and after trying it now I know that I'll be using one all the time for the bare floors and in place of the tools on my upright. Because of that realization, there were a couple of things that caused me to return it even though it worked very well for the money.

1) The motor
Perhaps because it has the high power motor, it really generates a lot of heat. After only 10 minutes of use the handle was literally hot to the touch. No, it doesn't burn you or anything but it does make me think that since I will be using it for more then 5 minutes at a time, the motor can't hold up too long generating that amount of heat. My wife wouldn't let me keep it anyway because she said it makes a very loud high pitched noise. I'm okay with the noise as some vacuums are worse.

The $100 commercial version has 10amps but I can't tell the difference in suction. As all vacuums get hot due to the high amp motors, the commercial does not get as hot. Also, it does not make the high noise.

2) The cheap tools
The wand and tools are really cheap although they are good for a $60 vacuum. They work but just are not great to use. The combo duster/furniture tool is terrible if you really will be using them often. The half not in use causes the half you are using from reaching a corner or the back side of the stairs very well. The non duster part really needs to be an inch wider. An adjustable wand would really be much nicer if using it a lot and while the hose/handle are okay, I did manage to crimp the hose once while dusting some high up blinds. The crevice and floor tools were fine.

The commerical one has the best duster I've ever used on a vacuum and the other tools are all very good. The hose is a thicker plastic so I have not gotten it to crimp and the adjustable wand is nice. Both of those add a few pounds of weight but it is still light. No vacuum is perfect and neither is the commercial one but I'll be keeping that one.

The descriptions and so forth on these vacuums are way more confusing then they should be. The 3670G has a 12 amp motor and that is over 1400 watts. The commercial is 10 amps or 1200 watts. However, power does not equal good cleaning so who cares anyway? Perhaps the lower amp version and/or commercial versions do not have such a heat issue and if not very likely will last a lot longer.

4 out of 5 stars Awesome vacuum!   July 16, 2010
Lulu (Brooklyn, NY)
I purchased this after reading the reviews and boy am I happy!!!
I was using a shop vac before and it was so cumbersome. I received my Eureka Mighty Mite and was so pleasantly surprised with the light weight body, easy to use attachments and the minimal noise it makes!

There are only 2 things that I have a problem with:

1) The wheels under the floor attachment - as great as they are for easy movement, it's a little difficult to move in certain directions that I want it to go in.

2) The multipurpose brush attachment is too thick to get into certain crevices that I need it to go in.

Other than that, I highly recommend it! It's an awesome vacuum! :)

4 out of 5 stars Good and basic   July 13, 2010

Thanks for the last reviewer. I almost bought the weaker non-G model. This G model has pretty powerful suction. The filter bag is easy to change and priced reasonable. Build and design are pretty basic and not as advanced as those Japanese models like Sanyo Powerboy. The wheels are made with hard plastic. I am afraid it could scratch my hard wood floor someday. It does NOT has HEPA filter. Overall, I like it.

5 out of 5 stars Love the MIghty Mite   June 5, 2010
J. Hails (Fountain Valley, California United States)
I've had my Mighty Mite for 3 months now. Love it! It is light weight and easy to use but it has a lot of suction. The on-board tools are really handy. The floor took looks a bit silly - like cheap plastic - but it works great on hard surface floors. Haven't tried it on carpeting so I can't comment on that.

1 out of 5 stars Really Junky-- don't know why it gets good reviews.   May 30, 2010
Nory Oakes (Voluntown, CT)
This vacuum did an OK job for the first couple months. Although the suction was decent, the CHEAP plastic hose and CHEAP head nozzle have caused a lot of frustration. Over time, I had to start holding the hose a certain way with one hand to suck anything-- and it's awkward. Also, the way you have to wrap the cord around the device is annoying.

I've had my Eureka Boss for three years with not much success. It was a complete waste of $90 and will be going to goodwill for some poor soul to scoop up.

You're better off forking over the money for a high-quality Miele canister vacuum. My family have had superior luck with their Miele.
