great July 29, 2010 Marilyn S. D. (forked river, NJ) I have recently changed from carpeting to wood laminate in my house for all floors. I looked for something quick to vaccum and lightweight. It is both. I use it everyday. The only drawback is that the rechargeable battery runs out just about when I am finished. If I had more to vaccuum I would have to wait for a recharge.
nNice cleaner July 28, 2010 V. Gilbert The cleaner is lightweight and powerful. It looks good and avoids dragging cords all over and plugging and unplugging them as you go from room to room. Cup is easy to clean out. Charger is easy to charge and use.
Only negative is that the charge is not very long lasting and if you don't have a spare charging while you work you will probably have to stop after 30 or so minutes and wait for the charger to be re energized- a matter of hours. I stick it in the car and use it on our country cottage which has stairs-much easier to do without cords.
LINX stinks!! July 27, 2010 JamesSD 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
After buying two other less expensive cordless vacuums and being disappointed in them, I decided to "go for it" and buy the "best" one I could find. Problem is the Hoover LINX Cordless Stick Vacuum is ALSO garbage...just more expensive. On hardwood and tile floors, it picks up pet hair, dust and other assorted light debris and them spits most of it back out a few seconds later. Very frustrating. Another "bonus" is the battery life is extremely short. Waste of money. I plan to exchange mine for a corded vacuum.
THE RIGHT VAC FOR THE RIGHT JOB! July 25, 2010 Janice Gudinkas (Willington CT) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Frankly I'm frustrated with reviewers who hate this machine, claiming that it can't clean the whole house and the battery wears down too quickly. Folks... this is a spot cleaner, ergo the size, power, design and weight of machine! This machine is perfect for picking up, in a split second,:...... the dog's shedded fur in the tile entryway [no more chasing fur bunnies]; dust bunnies behind the bathroom doors; cornflakes on the kitchen floor; and whatever dust & specks in rooms' corners. **Save the BIG machine for whole house cleaning on "whole house cleaning days" when the vacuum is running for a few hours, it seems. Use the right machine for the right job. Do you think the vacuum is too expensive? If I were just starting out on a tight budget, I'd opt for a full-service Hoover amd leave this on a wish list. Hey, eliminate your angst and use the Hoover LINX as intended. And don't leave the battery in the charger after it's charged, so I heard, or it won't work. But an extra battery....HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF NOT HAVE AN EXTRA????? Be prepared....the government surely isn't~ {sorry for the non-partisen comment!) BUY THIS HOOVER. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY! But make sure you have a good sturdy "regular" one first!!! P.S> Knowing my elderly and frail friends, they would adore this vac if friends kept it charged. No more bending over to sweep up dirt. And you can empty the can for him/her! It takes a village.
Finally Free! July 22, 2010 Mom2Gomers3 I am so glad to have found a way to clean my hardwood kitchen and breakfast area without changing electrical outlets three times. My old stick vac kept me tethered to the wall. With more than 500 square feet to cover, I had to unplug and re-plug over and over. Three kids make quite a mess and I usually need to vacuum after most meals. But with the corded stick vac, it was a pain. I actually vacuum MORE with the cordless Hoover LINX.
The lithium battery lasts long enough to do the job I need it to do - and it recharges in a couple hours. I've never had the battery die before I was done cleaning. I only use the vacuum on my hardwoods, and occasionally for a quick clean up on tile, so I don't need a ton of battery life. But I do need a powerful clean, and the Hoover delivers. I especially love that I can switch on the brush roll with my thumb, to clean area rugs. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone who wants a powerful cordless stick for keeping hard floors spotless. It's so sleek, I don't even mind it standing in the corner (a plus, since I use it at least twice a day).
