3 out of 5 stars It's OK, but don't expect it to pick up dust   July 26, 2010
Mairzy Doats (Fort Worth, TX USA)
It's a super little sweeper. It does just as advertised. But don't expect it to be anything like a vacuum. It has no suction. It only sweeps the particles on the floor into the collection bin, but only particles that can be picked up by spinning brushes. Dust and powder stay on the floor. But as I said, as a sweeper it's good. I especially like that it can get into those hard-to-reach areas.

4 out of 5 stars Does exactly what you would expect it to do!   July 25, 2010
Happy Dave (Massachusetts)
Hi - I have a G2 up in my small house. I live alone at this time so I decided that I wouldn't make big messes or drop stuff. I basically need to clean my floors 2 times a month - once with the "swivel" on my quick clean day AND once with my $150 vacuum that is no longer in production so I maintain it myself. I only wear slippers in the house. Occasionally, a few crumbs drop on the floor or small paper pieces evade my shredder. Totally understandable. At my 2 week point, I swivel sweep rooms in use - first emptying the unit to make sure I start "fresh." After I run the unit through the kitchen, main room, bathroom, hallway (small), and "postage stamp" entranceway, I empty the sweeper AND I AM AMAZED at the amount of stuff that was picked up. The reason I am amazed is that I initially emptied the unit before sweeping. I allowed any and all previous clippings to to fall out AND then shake the unit so that I hear no more discharge. Now I empty it upon this next use and the amount of sound that the clippings make as the fall into the trash bag assures me that it has done a good job of getting whatever there was on my carpets and linoleum floors.

Look - I wouldn't expect a small car to tow a trailer - no matter what I am told. I wouldn't expect an automatic can opener that cost $25 to open 30,000 cans - no matter what I am told. I wouldn't expect a netbook computer to handle high-end digital photography editing - no matter what I am told. I have common sense and pretty much can figure what I can get out of a smaller, lower-end piece of equipment. I don't expect this $35 sweeper to do what a $450 vacuum would be capable of. I'm not a moron. I have been more than pleased with the performance of this sweeper.

The only reason I rate it four stars instead of five is the rechargeable battery. Basically, I use the unit "fully" only once a month AND I keep the battery charged. I maybe use the sweeper three other times a month for small "localized" pick-ups in my high traffic areas - an example would be under the small dining table OR the carpet patch by the kitchen sink / stove area. The battery should last me at least three years - considering the price you pay per battery. I don't leave it constantly charging - only at night - and probably three times a week so that I don't overcharge it.

Oh - there is one more thing - the unit will not pick up anything that has very little weight. For instance - when I would swivel sweep my son's room (way back when) in out other house, it did not like to pick up small feather pieces that would make their way out of his pillows. You could stand there and try different directions, different parts of the bristle area (there are four sides of moving bristles), but the unit is not successful with this type of substance.

I hope this has been hopeful.

5 out of 5 stars Works great on my wood floors!   July 20, 2010
maggie may
I have wood floors throughout my house, upstairs and downstairs so having two is great. We have 3 dogs and 4 cats and lots of hair but the swivel sweeper gets it all and goes under and around everything without moving furniture. Since it is cordless and light I can go anywhere with it. I really like my swivel sweepers!

1 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed...   July 15, 2010

I was really hoping the swivel sweeper would perform as the commercials said it would, however, it doesn't even come close. I bought the sweeper to accomplish the small task of picking up the dog and cat hair on my hard wood floors in between my major vacuuming days. Unfortunately, the sweeper has very little suction power and it tends to blow the hair away from the sweeper instead of grabbing it. I actually had to pick the sweeper up and place it on top of the pet hair for it to catch. In the end, I learned that it doesn't pay to cut corners. I'll gladly spend the extra two minutes getting my "real" vacuum out of the closet.

5 out of 5 stars exactly what I was looking for   July 7, 2010

The swivel sweeper g2 is exactly what I was looking for; a quick easy way to pick up dirt from my kitchen and wood floors. Exactly like others have said, this is not a vacuum cleaner, it's a broom that saves you the trouble of using a dust pan, saving a step. I use it constantly in my kitchen and in the basement where I keep the kitty litter boxes. I've tried on the carpet and it works but the bristles come to a very slow movement, so again, it's not for carpets but for wood ,ceramic and tile floors. The battery stay charged for a while, though I did have a problem with one battery, however a replacement was sent within days. It can feel a little flimsy since the arm bends to get under cabinets.

I'm very happy with the product and highly recommend.
