Debunking a few myths, and giving credit where it's due! August 25, 2010 Gene So to begin, I'd like to say that I LOVE this vacuum. Now, I'll go on as to why.
1) This vacuum is NOT meant to be a primary cleaning instrument for high traffic homes, or high occupancy environments. Having said that, those who like to ridicule and down play this item for its "lack of performance" I'm going to have to disagree. This vacuum is PERFECT for the one to 2 person family. The space being covered could be from 500 sq ft to 5000 sq ft... It is for average and everyday soils, NOT intended for the family of 6, with 3 adolescents.
2) The power provided is phenomenal! As I was vacuuming my bedroom I was trying to use the vacuum head to push the sock out of the way, and this little monster sucked the sock up, completely!
3) From the reviews, I saw assembly was one of the biggest issues, as many users feel the design is difficult to work with. I feel it's safe to say that ALL of those users were American, conclusively, wanted everything to be easy and such. In actuality, the assembly took no longer than 5 minutes (opening the box, throwing all the packaging materials away, and being able to run the vacuum) IT REQUIRES READING! The box should come with that warning: "WARNING!!! do not buy if you do not intend to read!" Otherwise, the attachments are easy to use, and assembly was equally as easy.
4) AGAIN I must touch on the fact that this vacuum IS NOT FOR A LARGE FAMILY or HEAVILY SOILED FLOORING!!!!!!! It definitely exceeds the cleaning standards for a vacuum, BUT for a small family. If you are finding this not working for you and your family, either scold your children (and husband pending on who does the cleaning) OR purchase a Dyson. (From experience, it is the epitome of a commercial Vacuum)
CONS: THE ONLY CON IS THE WIDTH OF THE CLEANING HEAD!!! That's the only thing I didn't like about this, but for what I got for 48.72$, complaints are kept for later.
Great Vacuum, Great Value August 5, 2010 danbe This is a fantastic vacuum cleaner! I read a few reviews that had mentioned how complicated the set-up is. One reviewer mentioned that it required a degree in rocket science to assemble.
I was hesitant to purchase this vacuum based on those reviews. I am not mechanically inclined, and did not want to buy a vacuum cleaner that I could not properly operate. However, I have heard great things about the Shark line of vacuum cleaners. That their $200 vacuums were on par with products that cost over $1000. The Shark Multi-Vac is currently at a $100 discount. It is under $50. It is hard to pass up. The discount also made me a little suspicious of the quality. I bought the vacuum cleaner.
It took three business days to arrive via FedEx.. I took it of the package and my immediate thought was that designers of this device had the Jetsons in mind. It does look like something from the future.
The Vacuum was difficult to assemble. This is due to a non-intuitive design and a lack of proper instructions. However, after twenty minutes, I had the vacuum put together and realized that in retrospect it really isn't that difficult. Changing between functions is also, not difficult.
I noticed some people complaining about the location of the on/off switch. It is located on the front of the unit, in the middle. It is not the inconvenient. Perhaps for a pregnant women, because it does require that you bend down, but only slightly.
This vacuum is incredibly strong, and I would not recommend using it on delicate carpet. I have berber capet and linoleum, so the vacuum is perfect. There are no brushes, so it will not ruin hardwood or linoleum floors. There is a pet hair attachment with rolling brushes which works great.
For the price, the value is irresistible. The vacuum is so efficient that I would gladly pay full price for this unit.
Awesome Vaccum Cleaner August 3, 2010 Wattam (Chicago, IL US) This vaccum cleaner is best buy for the price. I found it very effecient and product stands correct on description.
Very good vaccum power, easy to move around and easy to clean in tight spaces. I mostly use it for carpet cleaning and its effective for that. You have to use your brains a bit to assemble it first time, once its assembled no body can stop you from cleaning ;-).
Best Vacuum Ever July 31, 2010 Houdini I purchased this vacuum a few months ago for around $50. It's the best vacuum I've ever used. If you have a little patience and sit down with the manual and vacuum for about 15 mins, you'll find it's a really smart and well put together vacuum. The suction is second to none, it's bagless, turns into a hand vac, and much more. No complaints so far. Highly recommended.
I Hate This Thing!!! July 18, 2010 EK (Waterford, Michigan United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
First, the suction is good. Besides that, it just sucks. The hand-vac falls off the frame. Just tumbles around when you are trying to clean and it won't stay put. It is heavy. A lot heavier than the upright vacuum I was replacing. It is also way off balance. If you just bump it a little, it will flip right over. And you have to take off the entire canister just to dump it, which by the way, is so small I have to dump it at least twice per vacuuming session. If it has hepa filter it wouldn't even matter because you have to stick your hand in the dumper just to get the stuff out. Clouds of dirt and hair coming out of the trash can, floating back all over the house. The hose is short and annoying. I can't reach the cobwebs around the ceiling because there is no long stick attachment. The cord is too short. Should I go on? The only nice thing about it is that the part that rolls around the floor is thin so it gets the dog hair off the legs of the tables and chairs without having to flip them over. Piece of junk.
